Jon Townsin - Contemporary Carpenter

Passion led me here. I enjoy creating with wood, such a beautiful medium to work with. I hate doing the same thing twice - so unique, contemporary wood furniture is what I love.

From my studio in the heart of West Berkshire, I create contemporary pieces. I enjoy the challenge of innovating and evolving design, working with natural shapes, grain and figuring.

I always begin with beautiful raw materials, I love to work with Walnut, Oak and Ash and craft them into contemporary shapes with inlay work and steam-bending techniques.

After retiring from corporate life - I have found my true passion. I hate the idea of churn, loathe the thought of making the same design over and over. Which is why I work on a commission basis and you won't find me on Etsy or Notonthehighstreet.
